FOR THE HOTEL RESERVATIONS FOR KENTUCKY LAKE AND GUNTERSVILLE TOURNAMENTS CHECK OUT THE FORUM FOR CONTACT INFO.

I know we started off a little bit slow but we were amazed by the turn out. Please be patient as we are not the BFL or Bassmasters. We do not have a team of paid staff or a weigh in trailer. All tournament helpers are anglers just like you, except they show up 2.5 hours early, participate and come in with in 15 minutes prior to of the end of the tournament, then stay to take it all down.  You should be as happy as most of us are to be a part of Nashville Tennessee's best bass fishing tournament. We also must keep in mind that you are only paying $25.00 per person,  and not big money like national series that charges $100.00- -$2500.00 per person. With our door prizes and fish off prizes we pay back over 200%.  The OHPPBT has grown over 130% in just the past 14 months. There will be minor growing pains and this is why we closed the membership a little early this year to help us slow the growth of Nashville's hottest bass tournament. We started off the day with a breakfast buffet @ The Black Pearl at Black Jack Cove Marina on Old Hickory Lake. The morning was chilly at only 25 degrees f. We were holding our first tournament on Old Hickory Lake  for the 2010 season. Black Jack Cove Marina is our new location for this lake during the 2010 season. We were served a buffet style breakfast that started around 4:30 am. The Marina Restaurant (The Black Pearl) will be opened up 2 hours prior to our scheduled blast off time to offer the buffet to OHPPBT for each Old Hickory Lake tournaments. We are very lucky to have a facility of its caliber to host our events. The single lane ramp is scheduled to be replaced by a double lane ramp and also new asphalt in the parking lot is set for the fall of 2010. We had 89 boats blast off around 6:34 am and we fished until 1:30 pm. The weather ended up very nice but the fishing was still cold for most of us. It was very tough as the fish were still hard to find. Many anglers did not even get a bite. Only 29 boats had fish with only 2 ( 5 fish bags) limits weighed in. 17 boats of the 29 boats only had 1 fish. We appreciate all of your patience as we are still learning our new high tech Pro Tournament Scales with Taysys Software. We have taken steps to assure the sign up and weigh in goes much faster and will be implemented during our next tournament. We gave out over 38 door prizes ($1600.00 worth) as well as paying the prize money out to the top 5 places, 2 big fish places and the Secret Weapon Prize Pack Winner to 6th place.  Brad Chapman of Tornado Termite & Pest Control/OHPPBT Director Donated and extra $230.00 towards the pay out for this tournament. (it was divided up and paid as part of the pay out for 1-5 and 2 big fish winners) We did have a few learning curves at our new location but over all it went very well. If you would like to launch from another ramp to avoid the lines to launch please feel free to. We will have a livewell checker at the end of the fuel dock for each event. Please make sure and read all the rules to familiarize yourself with them. Knowing your boat number is very important. Per the rules and in the future (as posted on our Forum & Rules on our site) if you give your wrong boat number, your out of luck. If you were supposed to win money, we will donate that money to the fish off. This will help make things go smoother and stop any confusion. Black Jack Cove Marina provided the OHPPBT with a release boat for our bass to be relocated outside of the (no fishing zone in the marina).  I want to thank all of our sponsors and all of the event workers as they are very dedicated to the OHPPBT and I want them to know that I appreciate all they do. I also want to thank all of our sponsors. If you want to know who gives discounts or deals to members check out the "our sponsors" tab on the main page of our site. Well here are the tournament results for all those who caught fish. The Points Standing have also been updated on this site under the "Points Standings" tab. Again thanks for your patience and we will see you on the water.
